NOTE: UIL CONTEST IS ON SATURDAY, OCT. 18TH – SIGN-UPS CLOSE FRIDAY, OCT. 17TH
UIL Region Marching Band Contest – Berry Center
WE WILL REQUEST LESS VOLUNTEERS AT CY-FALLS SINCE WE PREFER TO HAVE VOLUNTEERS AT THE BERRY CENTER FOR HOSTING. CONTACT CHAPERONE CHAIRPERSON WITH ANY QUESTIONS.
Chaperones: You will stay with students for this event all day. You will ride a student bus and take attendance each time students return to the bus. Check to make sure students have all necessary items (instrument, water jug, uniform, shako, etc.). Make sure no trash is left on the bus when we return to the school. Includes transportation. PLEASE WEAR A CY-FALLS SHIRT & ARRIVE AT THE BAND HALL BY 7:20 AM
Color Guard Chaperones: MUST HAVE A STUDENT IN COLOR GUARD. Same duties as chaperones but will assist directly with Color Guard group. Includes transportation. PLEASE WEAR A CY-FALLS SHIRT & ARRIVE AT THE BAND HALL BY 7:20 AM
Equipment Crew: Help load and unload equipment and coolers at school in the morning, at the stadium, and when we return to school. Also help push props/equipment onto the field for competition. Includes entry, but equipment crew drives their own vehicle to the stadium. PLEASE WEAR A CY-FALLS SHIRT & ARRIVE AT THE BAND HALL BY 7:00 AM
First Aid: At least one chaperone will be designated as First Aid – must be an EMT, nurse, doctor, etc. (First Aid Certified) The First Aid Chaperone will ride the bus and stay with the group during the entire event. Includes transportation. PLEASE WEAR A CY-FALLS SHIRT & ARRIVE AT THE BAND HALL BY 7:20 AM
Food Service: Help serve breakfast at the school before departure. Arrive at the band hall (Commons) to set up food for the students, hand out food and drinks, and help clean up after serving. No transportation or entry to stadium is provided. ARRIVE AT THE BAND HALL BY 7:00 AM
Driver Treats: Prepare and deliver 9 treat bags for the bus and truck drivers. Treat bags can include sweet/salty snacks, water and/or juice, but no items with nuts. Deliver to the band hall on competition day no later than 7:20 AM.
